Work hard for party's success in upcoming local body elections, MPCC chief tells party workers

Aurangabad / Mumbai, Aug 3 (UNI) Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee president Nana Patole on Tuesday exhorted the party workers to strengthen the booth committees and work for the success of the party in upcoming Zilla Parishad, Municipal Council and Municipal Corporation elections in the state.
While guiding the district presidents, MLAs, all cell and department heads in a meeting held at the party headquarters in Mumbai, he quoted MP Rahul Gandhi who said that the Congress wanted the workers to work hard to improve the performance of the party in the local body elections without any compromise.
Mr Patole reminded them that the Congress party had done well in the Gram Panchayat elections as well as in the Legislative Council elections.
He asked the party leaders and workers to inform the public about the works of the Maha Vikas Aghadi state government and to start working with new enthusiasm for the success of the party in the local body elections, he added.
Former chief minister Prithviraj Chavan, Mumbai Congress president Bhai Jagtap, State Working president Shivajirao Moghe, Chandrakant Handore, Naseem Khan, Basavaraj Patil, Praniti Shinde, Kunal Patil, Sharad Ranapise and State vice-president Mohan Joshi among others were present at the meeting.
On this occasion former minister and former MLA from Hinganghat assembly constituency, Ashok Shinde joined the Congress party along with his supporters.
