Ranchi, Aug 3 (UNI) The Jharkhand High Court on Tuesday asked the Central Bureau of Investigation
to immediately commence its probe into the killing of Additional district and sessions judge Uttam Anand so that evidences can not be tampered.
The court also directed to provide the necessary documents and logistics support to the
investigating agency.
The lawyer of the CBI said that the agency has received the letter of recommendation from the
state government and on Wednesday notification will be issued in this regard.
Earlier, the government said that case has been handed over to the CBI.
During the hearing the court directed Jharkhand DGP to take immediate steps for the security of judicial magistrates and other judges in Dhanbad and asked to deploy police jawans in their
residential area as post the incident they were fearing unsafe.
Advocate General Rajeev Ranjan informed the court that the link of the case might be related to
other states therefore in such a scenario CBI was the most appropriate to take up the case as
police might face difficulties in investigating the matter in other states.
The court during the hearing expressed its displeasure over the probe being done by the SIT constituted by the state police and even questioned as to when the incident had taken place
around 5 AM why the FIR was registered around 12.45 PM.
