Encroachments at Villivakkam temple removed

CHENNAI: Encroachments around the Sowmya Damodara Perumal Temple at Villivakkam in Chennai were removed on Monday.
The encroachments at the entrance of the temple, tank and car were cleared, an official press release from the Hindu religious and charitable endowments department said.
HR&CE minister P K Sekar Babu conducted a review at the temple on Saturday. On the occasion, encroachments for commercial purposes were found. Following this, directions were given to the HR&CE officials to remove the encroachments, the release added.
