Panaji: The leaders of the Congress party held an internal review meeting at the office of the leader of the opposition, Digambar Kamat, in the assembly complex on Monday, to deliberate on the 20 bills passed during the recently concluded monsoon session of the assembly, including the 11 bills passed on the final day of the session.
The meeting also discussed in detail the controversial Goa Bhumiputra Adhikarini Bill, 2021 that was tabled and passed by the government in this session.
“The party leaders discussed the strategy for scuttling assent to this Bill by Governor P S Sreedharan Pillai,” a party source informed, adding that all pros and cons as regards this legislation were deliberated upon.
The Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) had organised Sadbuddhi Yatra on August 1 at Sankhali and planned to give flowers to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant at his residence and pray for his mental health and enlighten him of his responsibilities.
