Forests are of great importance for the balance of nature and environmental protection. Along with this, medicinal plants have a special place in our culture and medical practices. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said this while addressing the inauguration ceremony of the 72nd Van Mahotsav and Ghar-Ghar Aushadhi Yojana organized virtually from the CM residence.

He said that to protect the health of the people of the state and for the protection and promotion of medicinal plants, the state government has started innovative schemes like door-to-door medicine. Rajasthan is probably the first state, which has implemented such a unique scheme on a large scale to awaken public consciousness about medicinal plants.

This will be a big step towards increasing the immunity of our future generation. On this occasion, the Minister of State for Forest and Environment Sukhram Vishnoi informed that under the scheme, eight medicinal plants of Tulsi, Giloy, Kalmegh, and Ashwagandha will be provided to all 1.26 crore families of the state three times in the next five years by the Forest Department. Fees will be provided.

The forest department will prepare these saplings in its nurseries. The state government will spend Rs 210 crore on this scheme.
