NEW DELHI: India and China had a candid and in-depth exchange of views during military-level talks over the disengagement in the friction areas along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), a joint press statement said.
The statement, released by the Indian Army after the 12th round of high-level military talks, said the two sides noted that this round of meeting was "constructive", which further enhanced mutual understanding.
"They agreed to resolve these remaining issues in an expeditious manner in accordance with the existing agreements and protocols and maintain the momentum of dialogue and negotiations," the statement said.
It added that India and China also agreed they will continue their effective efforts in ensuring stability along the LAC in the western sector and jointly maintain peace and tranquility.
Both sides have hold several rounds of talks to move forward on the disengagement process in the remaining friction points in eastern Ladakh to end an over 14-month standoff.
The 12th round of Corps Commander-level talks took place at the Moldo border point on the Chinese side of the LAC in eastern Ladakh.
The latest round of talks took place after a gap of more than three and a half months.
The 11th round of military dialogue had taken place on April 9 at the Chushul border point on the Indian side of the LAC and it lasted for around 13 hours.
