India reported 40,134 COVID-19 cases and 422 deaths in the last 24 hours. As per a Health Ministry update on Monday morning 36,946 people recovered during this time. Having briefly dipped below the four lakh mark towards the end of July, the active case tally now stands at 4,13,718.
