Tata Motors will increase the prices of its passenger vehicle line-up from August 3, 2021. The quantum of the hike will average about 0.8 per cent, depending on the model and variant.

Tata Motors will be increasing prices across its passenger vehicles in the country from August 3, 2021. The quantum of the price hike will average about 0.8 per cent, depending on the model and variant. In an official statement, the home-grown automaker said that the price hike is a part of the carmaker's 'Business Agility Plan' to protect and serve the interests of its customers, dealers and suppliers. However, the carmaker confirmed that it is offering price protection, which is applicable only on vehicles retailed on or before August 31, 2021.

The price protection is applicable only on vehicles retailed/ billed on or before August 31, 2021.

In an official statement, Tata Motors said, "Continuing with its commitment towards customers and acknowledging the faith and confidence they have reposed in Tata Motors' New Forever range, the company will offer protection from the price increase to vehicles that will be retailed on or before 31st August'21. For the wellbeing of its business and supporting ecosystem, Tata Motors had recently announced that it has set in motion a comprehensive 'Business Agility Plan' to protect and serve the interests of its customers, dealers and suppliers."

This is Tata's third price increase this year.

The price increase has been attributed to the rise in the cost of raw materials. This is the brand's third price increase this year. The automaker had previously increased prices in May 2021 by up to 1.8 per cent. Prices of cars were also hiked by up to ₹ 26,000 in January this year.
