'He's Tom Cruise!' Beauty and the Geek fans are stunned by George and Alexander's dramatic makeovers - but one 'unfair' twist leaves them seething

Beauty and the Geek viewers were left gobsmacked on Sunday night after four of the nerdy contestants received incredible makeovers.

George Goldfeder, Lachlan Mansell, James Letheby and Alexander Wojno looked unrecognisable after their transformations - ditching unkept beards and daggy clothes in favour of sleek haircuts and stylish ensembles.

And while many viewers were delighted by the episode, others were heartbroken that fan favourite Mitchell Berryman, 28, was sent home shortly before the makeovers, meaning he didn't receive one at all.

Dungeons and Dragons fan George was the first to receive his new look, with one fan even comparing him to Hollywood star Tom Cruise.

'My thoughts exactly,' another viewer wholeheartedly agreed.

The 27-year-old walked out in a suave ensemble comprising a black shirt tucked into beige pants with a matching suit jacket.

'Best makeover! Could see your confidence jump to 1000!' a fan gushed.

One fan wrote: 'The made over @alexmcchad looks like my husband!'

'Alex, smoking hot!!!' another added, while a third chimed in: 'I'd multiply with Alex any day...'

Alex perhaps had one of the more painful makeovers, getting his body completely waxed before unveiling his look for the camera.

'Alex was so funny this episode getting the wax! And his reaction to the transformation! He’s awesome!' a viewer said of his effort.

Others commented on the group's makeover as a whole, with one fan gushing: 'They all look they belong in a boy band!'

However, many shared their disappointment that gamer Mitchell didn't receive a makeover, after being eliminated with his partner Ashleigh Thomason.

'Wish Mitchell got his makeover. I wanted to see his. They should do all the eliminated guys as a special reunion makeover episode,' one fan suggested.

'Amazing… but sad beautiful Mitch didn’t get his makeover,' a second said, while a third commented: 'Really unfair that they left Mitch out after everything.'

'I was looking forward to Mitch’s makeover! I think it would have done wonders for him!' another said.
