Vezina Trophy-winning goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury has notified the Blackhawks that he plans to play in the 2021-22 season, according to multiple reports.

Fleury was traded to Chicago by the Vegas Golden Knights last week, and he was “seriously evaluating his hockey future,” according to agent Allan Walsh.

Walsh claimed the three-time Stanley Cup winner and 17-year NHL veteran learned of the trade via social media.

Vegas GM Kelly McCrimmon later denied that the 36-year-old Fleury and his representatives were kept of the loop in trade talks, saying they were “fully abreast of discussions all the way through.”

The Blackhawks, who dealt minor-league forward Mikael Hakkarainen in the deal, finished 24-25-7 last season and missed the playoffs for the third time in four years.
