Imphal, July 31 2021: Manipur Legislative Assembly additional secretary Karam Meghajit has been promoted to the post of secretary and he will take charge of the upgraded post with immediate effect.

Assembly secretary M Ramani Devi retired from service on Saturday and hence Meghajit will take charge of the post from her.

Meghajit was promoted to secretary on July 1.Meghajit's educational qualification is law graduate and he was an advocate earlier but joined Manipur Legislative Assembly service on May 25, 1995 as under-secretary and served as secretary in-charge from April 1, 2015 to November, 2016 and additional secretary from December, 2016 .

Meghajit hails from Karam Awang Leikai but presently resides at Langol Housing Complex.

He had undergone different trainings relating to Lok Sabha.
