Five-day faculty development programme at IIM Jammu from August 2

JAMMU: Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu will commence a five-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on teaching and research methods in online mode from August 2-6.

IIM spokesperson said, “Two hundred teachers and research scholars representing 189 different universities and institutions, from more than 25 different states and union territories of India, with an average work experience of ten years are participating in this FDP.”

“Under the patronage of Prof B S Sahay, Director IIM Jammu, this FDP is being coordinated by Dr Manoj Kumar and Dr Abhishek Srivastava. It is being conducted under the Online Faculty Development Programme scheme 2021-2022 of AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy.”

“The objective of ATAL Academy is to plan and help in imparting technical education in the country and in fostering research, innovation, and entrepreneurship through training in various emerging areas, official spokesperson added.


He said, “In the last year, even amidst the covid-19 pandemic, ATAL academy had organized approximately 1000 FDPs in online mode, and approximately one lakh faculty members and research scholars participated.”



“The last year’s online FDPs (2020-21) organized by ATAL academy have also been recognized as a world record by the World Book of Records, London.”



Spokesperson said, “IIM experts will also teach on how to conceptualize a research paper, prepare a research proposal, and different research methods while a special session on Mental & Emotional Development will also be conducted to familiarize participants with the need for overall holistic development.”
