NEW DELHI: Union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Sunday attacked former Congress president Rahul Gandhi for doing "petty politics" over the Covid vaccine supply in the country.
The health minister attacked Rahul after the latter's tweet on the alleged shortage in vaccine supply. In a tweet in Hindi on Sunday morning, Rahul said even though the month of July is over, the shortage in vaccine supply persists.
Along with this tweet, Rahul posted a short video which carried tweets and headlines of many incidents of vaccine shortage being reported in different parts of the country.
Rahul posted this tweet in reply to his own tweet posted earlier on July 2. In that tweet too, Rahul had questioned the situation of Covid-19 vaccine supply in the country and alluded to shortage of supply in vaccine even though the month of July has begun.

In reply to Rahul's tweet, Mandaviya, who became the health minister replacing Harsh Vardhan as part of Modi government's recent cabinet reshuffle, said over 13 crore vaccine doses have been administered in July and that vaccination drive will be sped up in the coming weeks.

"I have heard that you are one of the 13 crore people who were vaccinated in July. But you did not speak a word for our scientists, did not appeal to the public to vaccinate. Meaning you are doing petty politics in the name of vaccination. Actually not the vaccine, you lack maturity," wrote Mandiya.
