Discus thrower Kamalpreet Kaur qualified for the final with the best score of 64.00 in Group B qualification event but Seema Punia was knocked out. Earlier, India were handed two heartbreaking eliminations early in the day with archer Atanu Das and boxer Amit Panghal both being eliminated in their respective Round of 16 matches.
