Uruguay to invest USD 147 mln in Uruguay fibre push

Uruguay's state-owned operator Antel intends to make a "technological and qualitative leap" by investing USD 147 million to strengthen its fibre-optic infrastructure throughout the country, reports Telesemana, citing the latter's president Gabriel Gurmendez. The executive announced the plans following a meeting between the country's president Luis Lacalle Pou and the heads of various state-owned companies.
