One of the top high school boys soccer forwards in Greater Cincinnati has decided on a new home.

St. Xavier rising senior forward Tanner Creech has committed to Ohio State University.

St. Xavier forward Tanner Creech moves the ball against New Albany during a Division I semifinal soccer game at Xenia Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2020.

On a loaded St. Xavier team last season, Creech finished tied for seventh in the Greater Catholic League-South with 18 points, coming off six goals and six assists. He helped lead the Bombers to the program's first regional championship since 2018

Creech notched a season-high three assists in a 9-2 win over Elder on Sept. 29 and scored St. Xavier's lone goal in its 2-1 loss to New Albany in the Division I state semifinal on Nov. 11.

He appeared in 12 games for St. Xavier as a sophomore in 2019, scoring four goals to go with three assists.

St. Xavier's Tanner Creech also plays for '03 Cincinnati United Premier Gold.

Creech also plays for 03 CUP Gold under current Wyoming boys soccer head coach Adam Jones.

"Tanner (Creech) is one of the most gifted athletes I've ever coached. His size, strength, speed and general athleticism is a rare combination on the soccer field," Jones told The Enquirer. "That, combined with his technical ability, humility, selflessness and quiet competitive spirit make him one of the top recruits in the nation.

"His ceiling is tremendously high and we feel he will thrive in the environment Ohio State has built."

Creech's mother is in the Xavier Athletics Hall of Fame for women's soccer and his father played collegiate soccer at Miami University before his professional career.
