New Delhi: Indian shuttler PV Sindhu on Friday defeated Akane Yamaguchi in the quarterfinal of women’s badminton event. Sindhu put in her best foot forward to take away a 21-13, 22-20 win in 2 straight sets and storming into the semi-final. The first game was more close but Sindhu stood upto the challenge, staved it off and emerged victorious with 21-13.
In the second round of quarter-final, there was 54-shot rally between Sindhu and Yamaguchi and it lasted for about 1.2 minutes. In the end, No 6 seed Sindhu ended up winning the match in straight sets.
Sindhu was super-excited after but her coach Park Tae Sang looked even more joyous as he celebrated her victory in style. He jumped in joy and hugged Sindhu as this was the moment they had been preparing for a long time.
