A Cape Town bus driver was shot in the ankle near Borcherds Quarry Road after being caught in the crossfire during a taxi-related shooting on Friday.
The driver was struck by a stray bullet that was targeted at a taxi. No passengers were injured.
"Initial reports and witnesses indicate that this was a stray bullet which was aimed at a taxi, which had multiple shots fired at it. As this was happening, our driver drove past and was struck by the stray bullet," Golden Arrow Bus Service (GABS) spokesperson Bronwen Dyke-Beyer said.

She said the driver was taken to hospital, where he was treated for a superficial wound.
This is the second GABS driver to sustain a gunshot wound in the ongoing taxi violence in Cape Town.
According to police spokesperson FC van Wyk, the unknown attackers fled the scene of Friday's shooting. No arrests have been made.
Nyanga police have opened an attempted murder case.
