NEW DELHI: Shares of Walpar Nutritions Ltd., Vidhi Specialty Food, FairchemSpeciality, TPL Plastech and Indian Metals, hit their fresh 52-week highs during Friday's trade on NSE.

Benchmark NSE Nifty closed 15.4 points down at 15763.05 amid selling in frontline bluechip counters.

However, stocks such as Bright Solar, Viceroy Hotels, Suryoday Small Finance Bank Ltd., Alembic Pharma and Keerti Knowledge, touched their fresh 52-week lows.

Overall, 25 shares ended in the green in Nifty50 index, while 25 closed in the red.

In the Nifty 50 index, Sun Pharma, Tech Mahindra, Cipla, Shree Cements and Adani Ports SEZ were among top gainers during the day, while Hindalco, Bajaj Finance, SBI Life, Bajaj Finserv and SBI ended in the red.

The BSE Sensex closed 66.23 points down at 52586.84.

Traders piled up positions in Fertilisers, Glass, Irrigation & Allied Services, Diversified and Pharmaceuticals sectors, while selling was witnessed in Petrochemicals, Power, Sugar, Metals - Non Ferrous and NBFC sectors during the day.
