Goa sees 152 new Covid-19 cases; two more casualties
Goa's coronavirus caseload rose to 1,71,052, after 152 persons tested positive for the infection on Friday, an official from the state health department said. At least 134 patients were discharged from hospitals, while two died of the infection during the day, taking the count of recoveries to 1,66,813 and toll to 3,146, the official said.
Kerala reports 20,772 new Covid-19 cases, 14,651 recoveries and 116 deaths in the last 24 hours. Positivity rate is at 13.61%.

Japan expanded a coronavirus state of emergency to four more areas in addition to Tokyo on Friday following record spikes in infections as the capital hosts the Olympics. Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga declared an emergency in Saitama, Kanagawa and Chiba, near Tokyo, as well as in the western city of Osaka, effective Monday until Aug. 31.
