Cincinnati weather: Thunderstorms could bring damaging winds, isolated tornados and hail possible

It's time to move the outdoor cushions inside Greater Cincinnati, thunderstorms are on the way. 

Forecasters said there is a slight risk for severe weather on Thursday. The storms are expected to arrive in Greater Cincinnati around 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

"A few severe storms will be possible with damaging winds being the primary threat. Large hail or an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out," forecasters said. 

The front will move through the area by daybreak Friday, forecasters said. After that, Greater Cincinnati will have a break from the heat. 

"Once the front moves through (Thursday night), temperatures will become slightly below normal and remain that way into next week," the National Weather Service said.

Forecasters also said to expect mostly dry weather from Friday through Wednesday. There is a slight chance of showers possible Saturday.  

Highs will be below normal after the front and will be within a few degrees of 80 Saturday through Tuesday. Temperatures will rise to the low and mid-80s Wednesday.

Thursday: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 5 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 93. Heat index values as high as 100. Overnight showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 9 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 68. 

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 83. Overnight low around 62.

Saturday: A slight chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 80. Overnight chance of showers, mainly before 2 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 63. 

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 84. Overnight low around 61.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 83. Overnight low around 61.
