On the other hand, the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (Seba) will declare the Class X state board exam results at 11 am on July 30. Seba, in a press release said the students will have to download their digital mark-sheets through the website or mobile app initially. The hard copy of the mark-sheet and the certificate will be distributed later. Class X final results will be available on 14 websites, including www.sebaresults.in and resultsassam.nic.in.
The results will also be available in the mobile app, SEBA Results 2021. Among the Class X examinees, about 4.26 lakh were registered for the High School Leaving Certificate exam, while 12,275 were registered to appear in the Assam High Madrassa examination.
"If a candidate is not satisfied with the results published on the basis of data provided by the school evaluation committee, they may appear in a special examination to be conducted just after the publication of the results," the Seba release added. Candidates appearing in the special examination will have to appear in the theory portion of all the six papers. Their internal assessment and practical marks will be considered from the existing data which has already reached Seba.
The board informed that for the candidates who will appear in the special examination, the electronic mark-sheet provided on the basis of data of the school evaluation committee, will stand cancelled. A new mark-sheet will be provided to such candidates based on the marks scored in the special examination to be notified in due course. Willing candidates will be able to apply for the special test in the official portal of Seba through their respective school authorities between August 5 and 12.
AHSEC secretary Pulak Patgiri however told TOI that any decision on conducting special examination for the class 12 examinees will have to be taken by the state government. "At present, there is no plan to conduct special exam for class 12 students, " he said.
Seba also stated that to redress the grievances of the students, the grievance redressal committees in the districts will entertain the pleas. Recently, a school principal and an education department official were arrested by the police after a ‘cash-for-result’ scam was unearthed in Kamrup district. The police said the attempt was to manipulate the results of some Class X examinees in the district.
The Assam education department declared an evaluation formula for Class X and XII board examinees early this month after the board exams were scrapped for 2021 amid the prolonged second wave. The state is yet to fully recover from the pandemic and round-the-clock curfew is still on in two districts. Physical classes are still not allowed.
