Procter & Gamble names Jon Moeller its new CEO, effective in November

Procter & Gamble Co. PG, +0.52% said late Thursday that Chief Operating Officer Jon R. Moeller will succeed David Taylor as the consumer-products giant's chief executive officer, effective Nov. 1. At that date, Taylor will become Procter & Gamble's executive chairman, tasked with leading the board and "provide advice and counsel to the CEO and P&G leadership on company decisions," Procter & Gamble said. Moeller joined the company in 1988 and served as chief financial officer as well. The company said that Shailesh Jejurikar will take the post of chief operating officer on Oct. 1, reporting to Moeller. Jejurikar is the CEO of the company's fabric & home care unit, Procter & Gamble's largest. Shares of Procter & Gamble were flat in the extended session Thursday after ending the regular trading day up 0.5%.
