Cases registered against EPS and other AIADMK functionaries

SALEM: The Salem city and district police have registered cases against AIADMK functionaries and cadre, including the leader of the opposition and the joint coordinator of the party Edappadi K Palaniswami, for carrying out the demonstration against the DMK government in Tamil Nadu without getting permission from the police department. Police officials said that they have registered the cases against more than 7,000 AIADMK members.
AIADMK functionaries were involved in a state-wide demonstration on Wednesday urging the DMK government to fulfil its poll assurances at the earliest.
The AIADMK had not got permission from the police department for the demonstration.
“We have registered the cases against them for violating the state government’s lockdown orders,” the police officials said.
The police also registered cases against the MLAs of Salem south, Omalur, Attur, Gangavalli, Sankari and Veerapandi.
