‘Raj Kundra blow-up cannot be an excuse’: Singer Sona Mohapatra lashes out at trolls slut-shaming Bollywood women

Singer Sona Mohapatra who recently became the first independent Indian artist to get featured on a billboard at Times Square in New York, never shies away from speaking her mind. After the arrest of Raj Kundra in the pornography case, the singer reacted to it and said that the case has given ammunition to some people to troll women from the industry. Sona posted a video of herself and wrote, ‘The #RajKundra blow-up cannot be an excuse to throw lewd comments into our timelines & say things like, you are from #Bollywood & all of you are the same or other shit. No one has a right to shame, touch or do anything without our consent. Sounds simple enough?’ She further added, ‘This one again cus nothing showcases the hypocrisy, patriarchal toxicity of society more than when #porn related news ends up giving people the licence to #slutshame women in the public domain especially if you are in the entertainment industry.’
