@13:00 – India vs Sri Lanka 2nd T20 – Krunal Pandya shifted to Different Hotel: Krunal Pandya shifted to different hotel which is an intermediate care hotel Mount Lavinia accoridng to Sri Lanka Cricket officials. Rest of the 8 members have tested negative but are isolated and will not be part of the 2nd & 3rd T20.

- Krunal Pandy – Positive
- Prithvi Shaw and Suryakumar Yadav amongst the eight players who have been identified as Krunal’s close contacts. Shaw and Yadav were on Monday named as replacements to fly from Colombo to England, to join the Indian team gearing up for the five Test matches against England.
- Allrounder Hardik Pandya, wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan, opener Devdutt Padikkal and off-spinner Krishnappa Gowtham. The identity of the eighth player is yet to be ascertained. The eight players were isolated on Tuesday.
6:00AM on Wednesday – India Tour of Sri Lanka: All the eight people identified as the immediate contacts of India allrounder Krunal Pandya have tested negative for Covid-19 in the fresh round of RT-PCR tests carried out on Tuesday. BCCI hasn’t revealed the identity of these players but as per the information available – none of these 9 players will travel to the ground for the final two T20Is of the Sri Lanka series.
11:05 PM: 8 close contacts of Krunal Pandya tested negative but they will not be allowed to travel to the ground as per protocols for 72 hours.
11:00 PM: Krunal Pandya is ruled out of the T20 series as he has to spend a minimum of 7 days in isolation and provide three negative RT-PCR tests.
10:00 PM: All Indian players are currently placed in room isolation pending RT-PCR test result, a player from the contingent told PTI.
9:45 PM: Sri Lankan players will get another RT-PCR COVID test on Wednesday morning.
@8:50 PM: Suryakumar Yadav and Prithvi Shaw, both of whom are set to fly to England, are amongst the close contacts of Krunal Pandya.
@8:00 PM: As per reports, Krunal Pandya has tested positive in the RT-PCR test as well as per ESPNcricinfo. He tested positive in the Rapid Antigen test on Tuesday morning after complaining of a sore throat.
@7:30 PM: Both SLC & BCCI are confused how Krunal Pandya contract the virus as they were in a bio-secure bubble with no reports of the breach. Furthermore, the hotel staff of Taj Samudra hotel are also in a bio-secure bubble.

@5:01PM: Covid-19 hits India VS Sri Lanka Series – BCCI Sec says – Reports at 6PM – BCCI secretary, was quoted by PTI as saying that most of these contacts were players. “The reports will come in the evening (around 6 pm) and if everyone is in the clear, we can have the match on Wednesday. Maximum among the eight close contacts who are also in mandatory isolation are players.”

The players will undergo further tests and if all results are clear, the second T20I is expected to be played at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Wednesday.
This is the second time that the fixtures had to be rescheduled. Ahead of the series opener, two support staff of Sri Lankan team – including batting coach Grant Flower – tested positive for the virus, leading to the series being postponed by a few days.
