Delhi high court granted time to the authorities to file reports by September.
NEW DELHI: Delhi high court on Tuesday granted more time to the Centre and Delhi government on a PIL seeking creation of more cremation and burial sites in the city in view of the “overwhelming” number of people dying due to Covid-19 daily during the recent spike.
A bench of Chief Justice D N Patel and justice Jyoti Singh granted time to the authorities to file reports by September on the plea that submitted, “Due to an acute shortage of hospital beds and other necessities, such as testing kits and oxygen supply, there has been an overwhelming number of deaths in the country, especially Delhi”.
