Simone Biles Will Not Compete in All-Around Competition at Olympics

Simone Biles has made another big decision with her future in the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.

Earlier today, the 24-year-old gymnast announced she would not compete in the team finals, where Team USA had earned a silver medal.

Now, Simone has announced she will not be competing in the All-Around competition, for which she is the reigning champion.

NBC reports that Simone has pulled out of the competition “after further medical evaluation to focus on her mental health.”

“We wholeheartedly support Simone’s decision and applaud her bravery in prioritizing her well-being,” USA Gymnastics added in a statement. “Her courage shows, yet again, why she is a role model for so many.”

Alternate Jade Carey, 21, will compete in the All-Around.
