Oppn. attended the House but were rigid on their demand

Patna, Jul 28 (UNI) Even after boycott call of the Bihar Assembly in support of their demand, the opposition though attended the Monsoon session today but following their rigidity, the Chair later conceded their demand to convene the Business Advisor committee for holding the special debate on the issue of assault of MLAs after which the proceedings were smoothly taken up in the Lower House.

As soon as the house assembled Rashtriya Janata Dal member Lalit Yadav demanded holding a debate on the issue of assault of the MLAs during the last budget session.

The speaker Mr Vijay Kumar Sinha requested him to let the question hour be taken up but Mr Yadav did not budge and demanded holding of the business advisory committee immediately adjourning the house.

Objecting to the demands of Lalit Yadav, Rural development Minister Shrawan Kumar said that the chair can only be requested and not be directed to which Mr Yadav said that he was only requesting the chair for holding the business advisory committee meeting.

Meanwhile, parliamentary affairs minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhari expressed his gratitude towards the Chair for convincing the opposition to attend the house which had given a boycott call. He said that opposition and ruling parties both function only to serve the interest of the people of the state.

He further said that the government has already explained its stand on the incident of March 23 and reiterated that it was not under the purview of the state government but it was the privilege of the speaker.

Replying to the comment made by RJD member by Virendra, Mr Chaudhari said that everyone was bound with the ruling of the chair.

Congress legislature party leader Ajit Sharma said that they want a debate on the incident of March 23 and maintained that one-sided action should not become a precedence. The chair's decision would be accepted unanimously after the debate, he said and wanted to know about the business advisory committee on the issue.

Later the speaker extended his thanks to the opposition members for attending the house and announced to hold the meeting of the business advisory committee during the day and appealed to them to let the proceedings of the house continue smoothly.

To this, the opposition was pacified and the proceedings were taken up.
