NATIONAL SUMMARY
Severe thunderstorms could cause flash flooding and damaging
winds tomorrow afternoon and tomorrow night in central
portions of Illinois and Indiana, much of Ohio, southern
Pennsylvania, northern and central West Virginia, northern
Virginia, southern New Jersey and much of Maryland and
Delaware. Elsewhere, thunderstorms will pester the Gulf
Coast from Louisiana to Florida. In the West, spotty
afternoon thunderstorms are expected in the Rockies.
Afternoon thunderstorms may be a bit more numerous in
southern Utah, northern and eastern Arizona and western New
Mexico. Meanwhile, a heat wave will continue to scorch the
Plains and South with temperatures well into the 90s and low
100s. Heat will also build in the interior Northwest, with
100s forecast as far north as eastern Washington.
