By virtue of her second win in the group stages, Sindhu topped her group and is likely to face Denmark’s Mia Blichfeldt. Cheung, however, came back strongly in the second game and at one point was looking good to take the game deep but Sindhu again turned out to be too good for her and she brought her ‘A’ game to the court in the closing stages of the second game. The 26-year-old Indian went on to win the second 21-16 and with that the match that confirmed her place in the knockout stage. Sindhu has been touted as one of the medal contenders for India at the Tokyo Olympics.
