OnePlus launches a T-branded lineup of smartphones in the second half of every year. This tradition started after the launch of the OnePlus 3T and kept on growing for five years. But going by the latest tip by one of the top tipsters in the tech industry, this tradition seems to be ending soon.

As per Max Jambor on Twitter, there is no OnePlus 9T coming. So, those of you who were waiting to get OnePlus’s next flagship phone might have to wait longer now and rather settle for the OnePlus 10 that is bound to come next year only.

The ongoing global chip shortage looks to be the only reason behind this decision. Well, nothing is official yet. The tipster has been a great source so far now, but we do require some substantiality here.

In the same thread, upon asking about the OnePlus 9T Pro model, Jambor replied with a no as well. This isn’t a surprise, though. Last year as well, OnePlus chose to drop the Pro model.

So, apparently, the T-branded series ends here or it is possible that OnePlus has some other plans. We might get to learn more insights on the same as we move forward. The last T-branded series was the OnePlus 8T that launched back in October. So, we are still at a distance from the possible launch timeframe. Let’s see if OnePlus sheds some light on the matter.

Last we heard about the OnePlus 9T was in June when a post on Weibo reported that the OnePlus 9T will get Samsung’s LTPO AMOLED display panel with a 120Hz refresh rate.
