Samsung has confirmed that there will not be a Galaxy Note launch this year. This is something that we have been hearing rumors of for quite a long and has now been acknowledged officially. It said that the team is focusing on the foldable segment it entered with the Galaxy Fold launch in 2019. It wants to make foldables better and more user-friendly.

Dr. TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile Communications Business at Samsung Electronics, said that the foldable lineup will be improved and new features will be added. This clarifies that the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event on August 11th will be all about the Galaxy Z series. There are expected to be two offerings this year: Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 3.

One of the most important new additions to the Galaxy Z family will be the S Pen support. It is the stylus that has been a signature partner of the Galaxy Note lineup. Roh said that it will be the first-ever S Pen designed specifically for foldable phones. He did not go into details but we can expect to see a stylus loaded with features meant for foldables.

Samsung is also running offers for those who register for the new devices. It includes the highest online instant trade-in value by offering up to $100 extra, the first 12 months of Samsung Care+, and an extra special offer towards Galaxy products.

Here is the complete statement by Roh:

"We are out to set new heights and open up a whole new world of exciting experiences for even more people. I hope you’ll join us as we debut our next Galaxy Z family and share some foldable surprises — including the first-ever S Pen designed specifically for foldable phones. Instead of unveiling a new Galaxy Note this time around, we will further broaden beloved Note features to more Samsung Galaxy devices. In the meantime, mark your calendars and tune in to our Unpacked event on August 11 to see what unfolds."
