Pregnant Woman Among 4 Stabbed In Huge Brawl in Philadelphia

A pregnant woman was among four women stabbed in a brutal attack in Philadelphia, according to a report.

According to NBC10 Philadelphia, four women, one of whom is pregnant, were stabbed during a huge brawl in the city's Olney neighborhood on Monday night.

It added, cops raced to the 5800 block of North Marshall Street at about 8:30 p.m. following reports of a large fight.

After they arrived, officers found a pregnant woman, believed to be in her 20s, who had several stab wounds to her hand.

There was also a 20-year-old woman who had been hit on the head with a baseball bat.

The outlet said that both women were transported to the nearby Einstein Medical Center and that they were in a stable condition.

It also reported three other women, who were between 20 and 22, who were also stabbed during the attack had also been taken to Einstein Medical Center.

One of the women had been stabbed in the back but was in a stable condition while a second woman had been knifed in the chest.

A third woman had suffered a stab wound to her neck and was said to be in a critical condition.

According to NBC10 Philadelphia, no one has been arrested in connection with the attack on the women.

It added officers had not recovered the knife or baseball bat thought to have been used in the attack, and that they are speaking to witnesses and examining a video shot near where the huge brawl took place.

Footage taken in North Marshall Street showed police officers standing guard near houses with a cordon having been put in place.

Newsweek has contacted the Philadelphia Police Department for comment.

The harrowing attack highlights an uptick in violent crime that has gripped Philadelphia in the last few months. Earlier this year, a Philadelphia doctor was stabbed multiple times in the head and face by a patient.

The female doctor later sued the facility after she was stabbed at Pennsylvania Hospital after the psychiatric patient repeatedly stabbed her with a knife taken from a lunch tray.

According to her lawyer Brett J. Kaminsky, the attack "was no isolated incident" and was a "well-known problem" in the sector.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Kaminsky said: "Doctors make sacrifices every day for the health and well-being of their patients. They should not have to sacrifice their own safety to perform their job.

"This attack was no isolated incident, as previously stated by the hospital. It is a well-known problem in the medical field that is unreported due to a culture of silence."
