How residents in Gurgaon helped each other fight second Covid wave
Several individuals and RWAs in Gurgaon put their best foot forward when it came to providing help to neighbours during the second wave of Covid-19. Various steps like arranging food, oxygen cylinders and setting up Covid Care Centres were taken by them. As part of TOI’s My Society Pride initiative, dozens of RWA members wrote to us sharing their efforts. Here’s a look at a few:

Initiatives undertaken by RWA
Restricting use of parks, gyms, clubhouses and swimming pools; regular updates on lockdown mandates; following ‘containment protocols’ defined by the government; separate garbage collection from homes of Covid patients; camps for Covid testing and vaccination; organising donation drives
Arrangements made by RWA within the society for residents ’ use during the lockdown
Oxygen cylinders bank/oxygen concentrators, plasma coordination service, hospital bed coordination service, ambulance service

WhatsApp group to help patients and families in real-time by providing critical support in terms of food, medicines, garbage disposal, RTPCR tests, oxygen cylinders and concentrators

Financial assistance to deceased staff’s family, providing meals/essential items
