LS adjourned till 1400 hrs amid Oppn protests over Pegasus snooping row, farm bills

New Delhi, Jul 27 (UNI) Proceedings of the Lok Sabha were adjourned for the fourth time till 1400 hrs on Tuesday amid ruckus by the Opposition over various issues, including Pegasus row and the controversial farm bills.

As soon as the House reassembled after the third adjournment at 1230 hrs, the Opposition Members

entered the Well of the House and started sloganeering over the issues.

Rajendra Agarwal, who was in the chair, made repeated requests to the agitating members to return to their seats.

'Please cooperate and please go back to your seats,' Mr Agarwal said.

As the Opposition members did not pay heed to Mr Agarwal's repeated requests, he adjourned the House till 1400 hrs.

Earlier also, the proceedings were hit thrice on the same issues.

As soon as the House assembled at 1100 hrs, Speaker Om Birla led the House to pay tributes to Anerood Jugnauth, former President of Mauritius and Kenneth David Buchizya Kaunda, first President of Zambia.

A minute's silence was observed in the honour of the departed souls.

When the Question Hour commenced, the agitating Members entered the Well of the House and

started sloganeering over the Pegasus snooping row and new farm bills.

Responding to a question on the farmers' stir during the Question Hour, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that if the opposition is really concerned about the farmers, then they should ask questions and allow the House to function.

He said today there are 15 questions related to farmers and the government is ready to answer them.

Speaker Om Birla made repeated requests to the Opposition members to return to their seats.

When they went unheeded, he adjourned the House till 1145 hrs.
