Sergio Ramos forced to wait for Paris Saint-Germain debut after picking up a calf injury - with the veteran defender, 35, yet to appear in PSG colours after his free transfer from Real Madrid
The French giants, led by Mauricio Pochettino (left), announced that the knock will keep him out of their pre-season friendly against Sevilla on Tuesday 27. Veteran defender Ramos (right) had hoped to return for the match against the first club of his career, but faces a delay to appear for the first time in his new side's colours after signing from Real Madrid on a free this summer. A statement on PSG 's official website read: 'Sergio Ramos is gradually recovering from a solar lesion in the left calf suffered during training at the end of last week. His return to training is expected in a week.' The centre back spent 16 trophy-laden years with Los Blancos, with an astonishing 101 goals in 671 games in all competitions, but left the club after failing to agree a new contract.
Aaron Ramsdale 'can become one of the best' goalkeepers in the country, claims former team-mate Asmir Begovic... amid Arsenal interest in the Sheffield United and England star
The Bosnia and Herzegovina international (right) - who signed on a free transfer for Everton this month - played alongside Ramsdale (left) at Bournemouth for several seasons. And Begovic told Talksport that the 23-year-old Sheffield United star has lots of room to improve in future. He said: 'He can become one of the best, especially in the country. He's already proved that he can play at the highest level. He's got a lot of potential still to fulfil. The more he plays, the more he's going to progress. So I'm not surprised to see him linked with some of the top clubs.'
Man United 'face selling £50m Paul Pogba OR £30m Jesse Lingard with the club plotting a net spend of £75m-100m' this summer... and exits are needed to bring in a midfielder and target Kieran Trippier
Jadon Sancho's £73m move from Borussia Dortmund was officially confirmed last week and United are closing in on unveiling Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane as their latest big-name arrival. But once Varane joins the club imminently, United may then have to focus on selling the likes of Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard (left) in order to pursue their other targets, as claimed by the Telegraph. It is believed that centre back Varane will cost United around £42m in total, meaning they have splashed out around £120m already - and this will likely see them look to broker at least one 'significant' sale. A new midfielder and Atletico Madrid right back Kieran Trippier (right) are on the club's wishlist over the next few weeks, but these chases appear to heavily rely on whether Pogba and Lingard are allowed to leave. United are under pressure to sell Pogba with Paris Saint-Germain holding strong interest in their superstar midfielder. Lingard, meanwhile, also faces an uncertain future. Saul Niguez (inset right), also of Atletico, has been earmarked as a potential replacement for Pogba.
Which Chelsea stars want out? Thomas Tuchel admits some of his players 'want to maybe leave' the club this summer after having loanees from last season back and with several senior stars short on game time
The European champions have a number of players who have returned from loan spells, with other players who might wish to look elsewhere after struggling for game time last season. Tuchel will give everyone a chance but will have some big calls to make before the summer transfer window shuts on August 31.
'I want to stay forever': AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie insists he wants to remain at the San Siro for his whole CAREER despite links with a transfer to Liverpool and Tottenham
The Ivorian's contract with the Italian giants is set to expire next summer in 2022, leading to speculation that Premier League sides including Jurgen Klopp's Reds were interested in pouncing for him. But Kessie (left) told Gazzetta dello Sport that he sees his long-term future at the San Siro (right), and is keen to negotiate the terms of a new deal once he gets back from the Tokyo Olympics. He said: 'I'm proud to have chose Milan and it is not my intention to leave. Indeed, I want to stay forever. When I come back from the Olympics, I'll fix everything. I just want Milan. Sporting director Paolo Maldini knows my thoughts. I want to be the 'President' of Milan for life.'
