PANAJI: Chief minister Pramod
Sawant on Monday objected to Delhi power minister Satyendar Jain’s calling Goa politicians ‘third class’. Sawant said that with it Jain had
insulted great
Goan politicians like Dayanand Bandodkar and Manohar Parrikar.
During his debate with state power minister Nilesh Cabral, Jain said, “Goa is first class, but people who I spoke to said that the politicians are third class.”
“AAP has always indulged in cheap politics through constant protests & theatrics. But to say Goans are third class politicians is an insult to
great sons-of-the-soil like Bhausaheb Bandodkar, Jack Sequeira, Manohar Bhai Parrikar, Rajendra Arlekar or Shripad Bhau Naik,” Sawant tweeted, hours after the televised debate ended.
AAP is free to create hype for its political benefits, but to come to Goa and insult our leaders is unacceptable, he said.
Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal reacting to the debate said that the BJP government in Goa had admitted that it has failed to provide power 24X7 in the state. “Excellent debate betn Del and Goa power ministers. Good for democracy. Nilesh Bab admitted that BJP failed to provide 24X7 electricity to Goans after so many yrs of rule. BJP also won’t provide free electricity. Satinder Jain promised free n uninterrupted power in Goa too, like Del,” Kejriwal tweeted.
Meanwhile, the state BJP said that AAP’s promise of providing free power to Goans if elected goes against financial wisdom.
