The 2021 Tata Tiago NRG is scheduled to make a comeback in a facelifted avatar by next week. The Indian carmaker has already shared that the car will be launched on August 4, 2021. Ahead of its official launch, the home-grown automaker has now officially teased the Tiago NRG facelift on its official social media accounts. For the unversed, the Tiago NRG was sold between 2018 and 2020 as a butch, crossover model based on Tata's entry-level offering. However, the company dropped the car from its line-up when the Tiago facelift went on sale in early 2020.
What's in a name? Limitless eNeRGy.

The Tata Tiago NRG facelift will get revised styling and new features which will be in line with the regular Tiago hatchback, apart from the rugged look. Visually, the car is likely to get a new front look from the Tiago with the sharper grille and headlamps, revised bumper, and new 14-inch alloy wheels. It is also expected to get body cladding on the lower section along with beefier bumpers at the front and rear with faux skid plates. The tailgate will also get the rugged black cladding with the NRG badge.
On the inside, the car is expected to sport an all-black cabin. It will also get contrast accents on the AC air vent bezels, gearshift knob, and the centre console. In terms of features, the Tiago NRG facelift will come equipped with a new touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, Harman sound system and more. Safety equipment will include dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, and more.

The older Tiago NRG shared its powertrains with the standard Tiago, and we expect that to be the case in the new one as well. The Tata Tiago comes with a 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine that is tuned to make 84 bhp and develops 113 Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with either a 5-speed manual or 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT). Once launched, it will compete against the Maruti Suzuki Celerio X and the Ford Freestyle. Prices are likely to begin from ₹ 5.5 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards.
