Kalyan: MP Shrikant Shinde distributes food materials, household items to flood-affected people

KALYAN: The Kalyan Lok Sabha MP Dr Shrikant Shinde on Tuesday has started distributing food materials and daily household items to flood-affected people in Kalyan rural areas of Thane District where thousands of people were affected due to the recent flood.
Shinde, who has set a target to distribute help materials to 2000 people on Tuesday, distributed help materials to the flood-affected people of Mharal, Warap and Kamba villages comes under Kalyan taluka of Thane district.
Last week, due to the heavy rains in the Thane district and hilly areas from where Ulhas river emerges, it had started overflowing causing flood-like situations in riverside areas in Kalyan, Badlapur and Ulhasnagar.
The three villages of Mharal, Warap and Kamba were badly affected by the floods in which many lost their all belongings.
Seeing the damage of the villagers, Dr Shinde on Tuesday distributed mats, blankets, satranj, towels and other daily necessities as well as packets of food items to the flood victims.
Dr Shinde said, “The state government has ordered the revenue department to make panchnama of those affected in flood to whom compensation will be given as per condition and eligibility of the government”.
