DEMOW, July 26: After the appeal of Sivasagar District Committee, All Assam Students Union, its Demow regional committee organised a protest in Demow Chariali at NH-37 on Monday against the rising prices of fuel and essential commodities. The students’ body lambasted the state and union government for failing to control the soaring prices that have been troubling the citizens. The student activists shouted slogans against the Union and state governments as well as state food and civil supplies minister and demanded immediate checking of rising prices amid pandemic induced lockdowns. Aditya Sarma, adviser AASU, Demow regional committee; Plabon Buragohain, general secretary of AASU, Demow regional committee along with other AASU leaders were present during the protest.
