SIVASAGAR, July 26: Noted litterateur from Arunachal Pradesh Padmashee Yeshe Dorjee Thongchi on July 24 attended a webinar on ‘Sahitya, Jibon Aru Prasna’ organised by Sivasagar Jila Sahitya Sabha. Answering a series of questions, Thongchi said that language lives in the heart of the people and not in the files of the government; “hence it will survive as long as the community survives”. He said that the fear of losing the Assamese language is absolutely unthinkable. Referring to his own writings, Thongchi said that he was fortunate to have met numerous people from various tribes of Arunachal Pradesh and felt the pulse of their hearts and sentiments- the ingredients of his writings. The webinar was inaugurated by Juga Gogoi, president, and hosted by Santosh Dutta, secretary, Jila Sahitya Sabha.
