5.1 speakers for under 10K

With our current 5.1 setup (a cheap no-brand that has existed for close to two decades) dying a slow death, and with the impending sales on Amazon/Flipkart - looking for something to replace it.

Here are my requirements:
1. Would dearly like to stick to something under ~10K
2. Totally alright with just-about-okayish or just-above-poorish SQ that I expect in this price range. Effectively looking for something decent among the bottom scrapers, here.
3. Love the surround experience (even on our current crappy system) and would like to stick to a 5.1 or a 4.0 system (something with SL and SR).
4. A wired system would be fine. Our drawing room is fairly large and the furthest rear speaker uses a 15m cable. I'm fine with resoldering the same wire onto new speakers.
5. Only require a single analog 3.5mm (or RCA) input. Not looking for anything fancy - could live with no FM radio, no Bluetooth device support, no USB, no optical inputs.
6. This is meant for occasional streaming/YT content on a Sony Bravia, and perhaps an odd weekend movie. Would place clarity of speech way up and over heavy bass (and everything else).

On Bluetooth speakers, if someone does indeed recommend them, I have very little idea, and have a few questions:
1. The farthest rear speaker will be around 5m from the main unit (measured as a straight line). Would this be within range?
2. I imagine each speaker would use batteries to power them. How often would I typically need to change batteries? Would this be a hassle?

Would greatly appreciate suggestions and links to decent online deals. Would prefer to get this over with soon, preferably grab something during one of the ongoing sales. Thank you.

My present setup: analog 3.5mm audio out of the TV connected to powered 5.1 speakers.

It is primitive and unsophisticated, and would like to keep it this way, since we watch very little TV, and yet cannot do without it. Essentially need a like-for-like (or marginally better) replacement for the 5.1 speakers within ~10K.

Just checked out their 4.1 range, and it's just about the type of speakers I'm looking for. Thank you.

I remember reading somewhere that @Googly has purchased Obage products. Googly, if possible can you share your experience. I am also looking to buy its 2.1 speakers

Hi there,
I am using their tower speakers. DT-2605.
Great bang for bucks. Each tower comes with 3-way speakers and a subwoofer.
So you get 6-speakers and 2 subwoofers in the system. The module for BT comes with USB and Radio. Don't expect finesse in finish and aesthetics. As far as general listening to music
I can recommend this specific model. You can call their customer care number for seconds deal as well.

Thanks a lot for the feedback. You are right the aesthetics dont look too good from the photos. But thats fine. Sound is a bigger priority for me as compared to looks. Plenty of brands have good looking speakers with too much boom boom bass. Good sound under 7-8k is harder to find

Also replaced my Philips MMS6080B 2.1 system which served me well with the following monitors.
Take a look at this JBL Professional 104 Compact Desktop Reference 60 W Bluetooth Studio Monitor on Flipkart
Great for music. Professional grade monitors with Bluetooth.
Currently at best price in Flipkart.
I would recommend this over Obage if your room size is less than 150 Sq. Feet and Bluetooth suffices.

The living room size is around 250-300. Thats why bookshelf speakers might not be enough. Btw would you recommend the philips over obage too?

This specific model is a very good piece with great acoustics. It's been continuing in production for last 6 years if I am not wrong. You can definitely consider it. 60W RMS with good mids and treble. Subwoofer is also much bigger than regular 2.1, at 5.25 inch.
If you are in Delhi, you can check out demo with Obage if available.

Thanks for that. Good idea. I am in Mumbai so will check out the Philips at a Croma.

Thank you for the Obage recommendations. I was since able to get in touch with them via their website, and after a bit of back and forth, ended up ordering this 2.1 unit: https://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B097N8WZ5F/

Must add that they were quite helpful - actually went as far as looking at my room dimensions and photos, and managed to convince me that a decent 2.1 setup will trump a poor 5.1 in my case, where my primary use is TV/movies (speech-based).
