New Delhi: A 23-second video of a traffic snarl on a mountain road went viral Monday, with many social media users sharing it as what tourists returning from Himachal Pradesh after a landslide in the state are experiencing.
A boulder smashed into a tourist vehicle following a landslide in Kinnaur Sunday, killing nine people.

The retreat of the second Covid wave in the country was followed by reports of tourists from Delhi and other neighbouring states rushing to Himachal Pradesh in June-July. There had also been reports of traffic jams on roads leading to Shimla and other parts of Himachal Pradesh in June, as tourists made their way to the mountains.

The viral video of Monday’s traffic jam is actually footage from Pakistan.
According to a report in the Daily Times, a newspaper in the country, the video was shot in from Kaghan Valley, Mansehra District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
As many as seven lakh vehicles entered the valley during Eid holidays last week, according to Mansehra Police, which led to the hours-long traffic snarls on the road, the report stated
This isn’t the first time that Kaghan Valley is dealing with a large influx of tourists. The last record was reportedly set five years ago, when five lakh vehicles had entered the region, popular for its natural beauty.
