Imphal, July 25 2021: Alleging that the name of a deceased who tested negative for COVID-19 was included in the list of Covid positive patients issued by the Government on July 24 last, the Uripok Tourangbam Leikai Welfare Organisation has expressed suspicion of mismanagement in identifying Covid patient.

In a statement, the organisation narrated that Gurumayum Ramananda Sharma of Uripok Tourangbam Leikei was admitted to Raj Medicity at around 5 am on Friday (July 23) .

Following the hospital protocols, he was made to undergo a Covid test, the result of which returned negative, the organisation said.

Saying that the patient, unfortunately, succumbed at the hospital and was brought home for cremation as his result came out Covid negative, the organisation alleged that his name (deceased), however, was incorporated in the list of Covid positive patients issued by the Government the following day (July 24).On apprehension, the local club and meira paibi lup contacted Raj Medicity for confirmation of his result, on which the hospital again apprised that Ramananda death is not a case of COVID-19, it asserted and urged the authority concerned to look into the matter at the earliest.
