Ujjain, MP, July 26 (UNI) Observing novel coronavirus prevention-related protocol, thousands of devotees thronged this ancient temple town’s world-renowned Mahakaleshwar shrine on the first Monday of the Hindu holy month of Shravan.
Madhya Pradesh’s erstwhile chief minister Uma Bharati also offered worship this morning.
The temple administration has extended, by a couple of hours, general darshan through prebooking for the months of Shravan and Bhado. The viewing timings are 0500-2100 hrs barring Mondays in Shravan when pilgrims may bow before the Lord from 0500-1100 hrs and 1900-2100 hrs after prebooking, Management Committee sources said, adding that the Rs 250 special darshan would not be possible during this period. For the bhasmarti, the shrine’s portals would open at 0230 hrs on Mondays and 0300 hrs on other days until September 6. A traditional procession is to be taken out at 1600 hrs on this day.
