Ramappa Temple was built in the 13th century and is named after its architect Ramappa. The government had proposed to UNESCO to recognize it as a World Heritage Site for 2019. It took 40 years to build the Ramappa temple. The scenes of Mahabharata and Ramayana can be seen on the walls of this temple built on a platform six feet high.
