Earlier this month, OnePlus made its decision transparent and announced what it means to have a deeper integration with Oppo. The two companies agreed to merge their respective OS codebases for their ease of use and to feed faster updates while also assuring its move will not affect the user experience in any way.

Now, the first result of their merger has come to life in the form of the latest phone Nord 2 5G. While the change is not visible, it is the reviewer’s guide that has revealed OnePlus’ OxygenOS is now skin on top of Oppo’s ColorOS.

Adam Conway from XDADevelopers has confirmed that the Nord 2 5G reviewer’s guide mentions plainly the phone runs OxygenOS based on Android 11/ColorOS 11.3. This clearly tells that OxygenOS is now a skin top of the ColorOS.

Well, this doesn’t come as a surprise, though. The outcome of the merger of codebases of two custom UI was pretty evident. OnePlus promised that OxygenOS will continue to operate as an independent entity for OnePlus phones even when the company doesn’t have its own different team to handle the workload.

The change is not really visible on the Nord 2. As 9to5Google has pointed out in the first impressions post, here are some minimal hints of Oppo’s ColorOS.
