AmaZulu president Sandile Zungu says he would be open to forming a CAF African Super League as long as his club is involved.

Plans for a European Super League were quickly dismantled after the widespread global backlash that followed its unveiling in April 2021.

But Zungu would be interested in entering talks surrounding a complete idea on the African continent after Confederation of African Football president Patrice Motsepe confirmed that discussions are underway.

Zungu said on Soccer Laduma: "I would like to not comment further on that if you remember there were issues and challenges in Europe about Super league.

"There's no resistance in talks. The biggest challenge will be when it is formed, which team will participate and those that won't be participate? Which criteria will be used? We don't know.

"But what we can say, we will fight for AmaZulu FC to be counted and included among the top teams on the continent. We will work hard that Usuthu gets invested in whatever will be happening; that is all I can say for now."
