Patna, Jul 26 (UNI) The opening day of Bihar Legislative Council was today adjourned for the
day after making obituary references to those who passed away in the intervening period.
While addressing the members of the House, the acting chairman of Bihar Legislative Council
Awdesh Narayan Singh said that the state government was strengthening the health system
keeping in mind the possibility of third wave of the covid-19 pandemic .
He said following the efforts of both centre and state, Bihar a was leading state in terms of vaccination against coronavirus infection.
He appealed to the members for discharging their constructive role during the proceedings
of the brief session of the House.
Later the House made obituary references to those who passed away in the intervening period including former minister Mewalal Chaudhary, MLC Hari Narayan Chaudhary and Tanvir Akhtar,
former chairman of Bihar Legislative Council professor Arun Kumar, former acting chairman Muhammad Wali Rahmani, former MP Siaman Marandi, Mohammad Shahabuddin, Jorawar
Ram, Dr Ravindra Kumar Yadav Ravi, former Bihar Governor Raghunandan Lal Bhatia and
Jagannath Pahadia, former minister Premnarayan Garhwal, Neiyel Tirkey ,Vijay Kumar Singh,
former MLA Bandi Uraon, Kunti Devi, Jagannath Prasad Rai, Laxman Gilua ,Shaligram Yadav,
Bharat Singh, Ramkrishna Yadav ,Akeel Haidar ,Ramchandra Singh, professor Raghav Prasad , Ramvichar Rai, Surya Dev Rai, Inderanand Yadav, Rameshwar Prasad , Janardan Manjhi,
former MLC Basant Kumar and Lal Shiv Prasad Singh.
Obituary references were also made to those who lost their lives untimely due to covid-19
pandemic including the doctors Prabhat Kumar, Shanti Singh, Mohan Mishra . U P Singh.
R K Jha, K K Agrawal, the renowned athlete Milkha Singh and several others .
The members kept one minute silence in the memory of the departed souls after which the
house was adjourned for the day.
